Miss Teen Texas International 2006
Michelle Jones

Teens Against Tobacco

A true Texas native, Michelle's family was one of the first German families to settle in Harris County.

Michelle dedicated her reign as Miss Teen Texas, to speaking to children about the dangers of tobacco.  Michelle lost her grandmother to lung cancer in 2004, after a lifetime of smoking.  Her goal, as Miss Teen Texas was to educate as many children as possible, about the detrimental effects of smoking.  Michelle partnered with Tobacco Free Kids to promote the cause.

To effectively illustrate the dangers of tobacco, Michelle put together a book, specifically geared towards school children.  This visual aid was an effective tool in engaging the children to which she spoke.

Michelle is a gifted vocalist and professional ballroom dancer.  She touched the lives of many throughout her reign and through her arts.

Highlights of Michelle's reign included singing the National Anthem at a Round Rock Express finals game, the Houston Children's Festival, The American Heart Association Heart Ball, the Taste of the Woodlands, participating in numerous parades, and performing at the 2007 Miss Teen Texas International Pageant.

To this day, Michelle remains close and involved with the Miss Teen Texas International organization.
